Text Messaging (SMS) Policy

Simply Lawn
Operated by Alejandro De La Cruz (sole proprietor), Converse, Texas
Last updated: August 7, 2026

This page explains the one and only text-message program Simply Lawn runs, exactly how you consent to receive those messages, and how you stop them. It applies to every text message our system could send you.

1. The one program we run: your login code

Simply Lawn sends one kind of text message: a one-time login code for the Simply Lawn customer portal at app.simplylawnsa.com.

  • These messages are transactional only. They are sent because you asked to sign in, and for no other reason.
  • We do not send marketing texts, promotional texts, sales texts, appointment reminders, invoice notices, quote follow-ups, or any recurring text series. No such program exists in our system.
  • We do not sell, rent, or share phone numbers with anyone for their own messaging.

Messages are sent by Simply Lawn, a sole proprietorship operated by Alejandro De La Cruz in Converse, Texas. We use Twilio as our messaging provider to deliver them.

2. How you opt in — the text-message workflow

Read this before the steps below: the text option is switched off today. Everything in this section describes the text-message opt-in workflow as it works when that option is switched on. It is not a description of what the login screen shows right now. Right now that screen offers the email-code option only, and no step below can be carried out — Section 3 gives the current status in full. The workflow is written out completely and exactly here so that the consent it captures can be read and checked in advance, and so this page can be compared against the flow on the day it returns.

When the text option is switched on, there is exactly one way to opt in: you ask us for a code, yourself, from the portal login screen. That workflow, step by step:

  1. You go to the Simply Lawn customer portal login page at app.simplylawnsa.com/portal/login. Anyone can open this page; no account or password is needed to see it.
  2. The screen asks how you'd like to receive your one-time sign-in code and offers two choices: email or text message. There is no consent checkbox anywhere on this screen — nothing for you to check, and nothing pre-checked on your behalf.
  3. If you choose the text option, a field appears for you to type in your own mobile number.
  4. Directly on that screen, above the button, this disclosure appears in full: "We text one-time login codes only — no marketing. Typically 1–4 msgs/month, only when you request one. Msg & data rates may apply. Reply STOP to opt out, HELP for help. By requesting a code you agree to our Terms & Privacy Policy. Prefer email? Use the email-code option."
  5. You tap "Text me a code." That tap is your consent — an action you take yourself, with the disclosure on the screen in front of you, to receive that login code by text. There is no pre-checked box and no box you have to uncheck, and that button is the only control on any customer-facing screen that asks us to send you a text.
  6. We send you one message containing a code that expires in 10 minutes. You enter the code to sign in. If you want another code, you request another one.

Those six steps are the whole of it. Nothing else — no form, no phone call, no service booking — enrolls you in text messages; see Section 4.

When a code is sent by text, the text of that single message reads:

"Your Simply Lawn code is 123456. Don't share this code — Simply Lawn will never ask for it. Expires in 10 min. Reply STOP to opt out."

(The six digits change every time; the rest of the message is fixed.)

3. Current status of the text option

We want this page to describe what actually happens today, so: the text option is switched off, and it stays off until our mobile carrier registration for text messaging is approved.

  • No customer-facing screen currently offers the text choice. The login screen presents the email code option only, and every customer signing in today receives their code by email.
  • Nothing about your service or your account is affected. Email codes work exactly the same way.
  • We switched the customer-facing option off on purpose rather than offer a text channel we are not yet registered to use. The workflow described in Section 2 is the flow that returns once that registration is approved, and this page will be updated the day it does.

4. What does not opt you in

So there's no confusion about where a number could come from:

  • Texting us for a quote does not opt you in. Our website has "Text for a quote" buttons that open your own messaging app so you can text (210) 570-6408 directly. That is an ordinary person-to-person conversation — you text us, a human reads it and texts you back from a phone. No automated program is behind it, no number is stored by it, and it enrolls you in nothing.
  • Having your number in our records does not opt you in. A phone number gets into our customer records exactly one way: Alejandro types it in by hand when he sets up your customer record, using the number you gave him. There is no form anywhere on this website — simplylawnsa.com — that collects a phone number: no booking form, no quote form, no sign-up form. (The one place you can ever type your own mobile number to us is the portal login screen described in Section 2, and only when you are asking for a code by text.) A number kept that way is there so we can reach you about your work. It is not added to any texting list, no automated message is generated from it, and it does not put you into the login-code program. The only way to receive a login code by text is to request one yourself using the workflow in Section 2.
  • We do not buy, rent, import, or otherwise acquire phone numbers for messaging from anyone.

5. Message frequency

Message frequency varies, because messages are only ever sent in response to something you do. For login codes it is typically 1–4 messages per month, sent only when you request one. If you never request a code, you never get a message.

6. Message and data rates

Message and data rates may apply, depending on your mobile carrier and plan. Simply Lawn does not charge you for these messages; your carrier may.

7. How to stop messages (STOP) and how to get help (HELP)

  • To stop: reply STOP to any text from us. You'll receive one confirmation that you've been unsubscribed, and we will not text you again. STOP is honored automatically and immediately.
  • To get help: reply HELP to any text from us, or contact us using Section 10 below.
  • To start again: reply START (or UNSTOP) to the same number you texted STOP to. That turns text messages from us back on. Requesting a login code by text then works normally again, which is the same affirmative opt-in described in Section 2. Requesting a code by itself is not enough — until you send START, the block stays in place at the carrier and messaging-provider level and the code will not reach you.
  • Opting out never locks you out. The email code option is always available, and it is the option in use today.

Carriers may also honor other standard keywords, such as UNSTOP, CANCEL, END, QUIT, and INFO.

8. Your mobile information is never shared

This is the same commitment we make in our Privacy Policy, stated here word for word:

No mobile information will be shared with third parties or affiliates for marketing or promotional purposes. All of the categories of information described in this Privacy Policy exclude text-messaging originator opt-in data and consent; this information will not be shared with any third parties.

Delivering a text message requires a messaging provider, and ours is Twilio. When you request a login code, your number and that one message are handled by Twilio on our behalf, for the single purpose of delivering the code you asked for. That is a service provider carrying out our instruction — it is not sharing your mobile information with a third party for marketing or promotional purposes, and it is not an exception to the paragraph above. Twilio is the only outside company involved in sending these messages.
